20-question level test

Question 1 / 20

The questions go from easy to hard. Rather than guessing blindly, pick the option that seems closest; the result is based on how many you get right at each level.

I ___ a student at the university.

How the English level test works

  1. 20 questions, four from each level from A1 to C1: grammar, vocabulary and short reading passages.
  2. After every answer you see the correct option and a short explanation, so you learn from each miss.
  3. At the end you see how many you got right, how you did level by level and a CEFR estimate (A1–C2); a level counts as passed with at least 3 of its 4 questions right.
  4. If you like, pick your exam and open a free account; the daily plan starts exactly from this level.

The test shows your level roughly; it is not an official document. For an official level you need an exam such as YDS, YÖKDİL, IELTS or TOEFL.

What does your level mean in exam scores?

  • IELTS: B1 is about band 4–5, B2 5.5–6.5, C1 7–8, C2 8.5–9.
  • TOEFL iBT (2026): according to ETS, 6 = C2, 5–5.5 = C1, 4–4.5 = B2, 3–3.5 = B1.
  • YDS and YÖKDİL: ÖSYM publishes no official CEFR equivalent for scores; the score comes straight from your correct answers.
