How long is a YÖKDİL score valid?
Facts last checked against official sources on October 7, 2026.
Short answer
According to ÖSYM’s guide, a YÖKDİL score is valid for 5 years from the exam date for graduate study and prep-year exemption. For academic staff posts and associate professorship applications it does not expire.
Can an institution ask for something else?
Universities may ask for a more recent result in their calls. Check the call before you apply.
From which date is it counted?
The 5 years start on the exam date. You can get your result document from ÖSYM’s Candidate Information System (AİS); the institution looks at the exam date on it.
What if your score has expired?
If you need a new result for graduate admission or prep-year exemption, you have to sit the exam again. YÖKDİL is held on paper twice a year, and there are e-YÖKDİL sittings too. See the 2026 YÖKDİL dates question for the dates.
